Ward is born the 15th of April 1975 in MonroeLouisiana. Monroe Christian School served as her Christian elementary school. When she completed the requirements for high school she transferred to River Oaks High School in the summer of her junior-year. In the school, she was a part of the drill and dance team. Shortly after her graduation, she attended Northeast Louisiana University. Ward dropped out at 13 and moved into New York so that she could start modeling. She tried her hand at acting several years later. In the 1970s, she first appeared in an uncredited part in the soap-opera All My Children and was later cast in the short-lived NBC premier-time teen-drama Malibu Shores.
